01
Applicability of the NDPA within the RCCG

This Data Protection Policy ("Policy") governs how RCCG Eternal Springs Parish — a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God — collects, processes, stores, and discloses personal data through our website, social media platforms, and physical and online ministry forms.

It is issued in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation, and the RCCG Data Protection Policy as published on rccg.org.ng.

RCCG Eternal Springs Parish reserves the right to process your data for its ecclesiastical purpose within the contemplation of applicable law. For further explanation on this policy, kindly contact the RCCG Data Protection Office via rccg.org.ng for fuller details.

02
What information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Identification details — full name, gender, date of birth, marital status.
  • Contact details — email address, phone number, residential or postal address, country.
  • Spiritual and ministry information — membership status, baptism record, cell or unit affiliation, prayer requests, testimonies you choose to share.
  • Family information — names and ages of children registered for Sunday School or youth ministry, next-of-kin and emergency contacts.
  • Giving and partnership records — offerings, tithes, pledges, and any related transaction references (we do not store full card or bank credentials; payments are handled by accredited gateways).
  • Technical data — basic web log data such as IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited (see "Cookies & analytics" below).

We collect data through our online forms (e.g. the New Guests Form (NGF), New Believers' Class Form (NBF), Baptismal Class Form (BCF), and Marriage Counselling Form (MCF)), through paper forms used in the parish, and through direct conversation with our pastoral and care teams.

03

05
Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With service providers — trusted vendors who help us run the parish (e.g. hosting, email delivery, payment gateways), bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • With your consent — for any purpose you have separately agreed to.
  • Where required by law — to comply with a court order, regulator, or other lawful request.

06
Storage, retention, and security

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or for any longer period required by law. Membership and pastoral records are retained for the duration of your association with the parish and a reasonable period thereafter for archival and historical purposes.
